Fair Use
Samaritans Inc. is committed to providing equitable community access to our support service, recognizing that the demand for our service often exceeds the available resources to answer all calls that are made to us.
Samaritans Inc. considers its first priority to be crisis support for those at imminent risk of personal harm. Accordingly, it seeks to balance the personal support needs of individual callers against, amongst other things, the need for our service to be as accessible as possible for those at imminent risk.
Accordingly, Samaritans Inc. reserves the right to limit the use of our service by individual callers who telephone our service on multiple occasions. We also reserve the right to limit the duration of individual calls. We may suggest alternative support options for you as part of this process that you can consider.
In addition, Samaritans Inc. reserves the right to actively prevent the use of our service by callers where we consider the purpose of the call is primarily for sexual gratification, where our volunteers are subjected to threats or personal abuse, or in any other circumstances that we consider to be an inappropriate use of our service
