Note: ASIST = Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training; MHFA = Mental Health First Aid. Note: All training is delivered face-to-face in Samaritans WA premises in Subiaco. Samaritans WA will seek to accommodate future COVID-19 lockdowns through videoconference, if appropriate. Note: All training sessions must be attended. If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled training dates, you will not be eligible to continue with training. *Group 2 training dates are subject to change.

Registration and Fees

Samaritans course fees are $200 for ASIST, $200 for MHFA and $200 for Samaritans Emotional Support Training. Fees listed exclude GST.
Payment is made for training only and does not guarantee progression to the next stage of the process as a volunteer.
Payment must be received in full seven days prior to the course start date.
Payment must be made via bank transfer.
Registrations will only be confirmed once payment has been receipted.
Receipts for payment are available upon request.

Participant Cancellation Policy

Course payment will be refunded (minus any bank fees) if cancellations are received more than seven days prior to the scheduled course date.
Cancellations with less than seven days’ notice will be refunded the course fee minus any bank fees and a non-refundable $50 administration cost for each course
Non-attendance on the day will result in a forfeiture of the course fee. Exceptional circumstances may be discussed with Samaritans.

Samaritans Rights and Responsibilities

Samaritans reserve the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule courses due to low enrolments or unforeseen circumstances.
Samaritans may change course fees, dates and locations at its discretion. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice to participants of these changes.
Samaritans will only use the information collected on this form for registration purposes.
If Samaritans cancel a course all participants will be notified, and a full refund of the course fee will be offered. Alternatively, participants may be offered a place on the next available course.
Throughout initial training, Samaritans training facilitators will continually assess participant’s suitability to continue training and progress as a volunteer. Once a volunteer, regular reviews will be conducted to continue to assess suitability.

Applicant Declaration

I acknowledge that the completion of Samaritans training does not guarantee me to be progressed to the next stage of the process as a volunteer.

I acknowledge that I must attend all scheduled training sessions. If I am unable to attend any of the scheduled training dates, I will not be eligible to continue with training.

I understand that because Samaritans supports vulnerable people of all ages, I will need to hold a valid Working with Children Card and give permission for ongoing National Volunteer Police Checks (the results of which may be discussed with me).
